Welcome to the Unitarian Universalist Funding Program

Please review the guidelines for each fund before applying.

The UU Funding Program has 2 grant cycles, one in the spring and one in the fall.

Spring cycle applications are published and available to applicants via the
UUFP Funding Center on March 1st with a March 31st deadline.

Fall cycle applications are published and available to applicants on and September 1st with a September 30th deadline.

The Fund for International UUism only accepts applications in the Spring.

The following funds are available at both grant cycles.

The Fund for UUism
The Fund for UU Social Responsibility

The Fund for a Just Society

The Fund for UU Social Responsibility - SPECIAL GRANTS
In 2026, this fund has 4 sub grants available on a rolling basis.  These grants are for projects where the urgency of the action required does not fall within our usual periods of discernment for making grants.  They are:

Actions of Public Witness
Congregation-Based Community Organizing (2 types of CBCO grants)
  • Membership
  • Training
GOTV (Get Out The Vote)
GOTV applications are due October 31st, while APW and either CBCO applications are accepted until  December 4th.

To submit an application, or complete an Interim of Final Report, log in to the UUFP Funding Center.

Once there, use your email address to login or create your user account.  If you don't remember whether you have one or not, simply try resetting your password.  You'll get a pop window asking for your email address.  If you don't have an account, it will say "No account found with that email address."  If you do have an account, it will email you a reset link.

If you did not have an account, don't be dismayed if s
etting up your User Account/Organization information takes more time than creating your application ~ that's really ok!

Once in the Funding Center, look for the "Apply" button at the top of the window.

Select the appropriate fund's application, and begin composing!

If you would like to start crafting your proposal before the cycle opens, links to application templates are below for our most recent cycle with the character limits noted.

PLEASE DO NOT MAIL US ANYTHING.  WE WILL NOT GET IT IN A TIMELY FASHION.

A Note about the Grant Decision Process

Picture
  • Panel meetings are held approximately two months after the application deadlines. Due to the confidential and the financial information discussed in deliberations, these meetings are not open to visitors.
  • Results of our meetings are mailed and emailed as soon as possible and then posted on our website.
  • UU Funding Program staff are happy to communicate via email with anyone who has questions or wants more information about our process and results.

Challenge Grant Awardees may use FAITHIFY to Fundraise

Picture
Many of our challenge grant recipients use FAITHIFY, Unitarian Universalism's crowdsourcing website, to fundraise for their challenge grants. Using FAITHIFY will allow you to activate your networks and connect with the larger UU community to raise these crucial challenge funds.

We want you to know that we are here to help. We've made posting a project on the site as simple as possible, and have documents and videos to help you every step of the way.

Go to faithify.org to get started. Let the faithifying begin!
