Welcome to the Unitarian Universalist Funding Program
Please review the guidelines for each fund before applying.
The UU Funding Program has 2 grant cycles, one in the spring and one in the fall.
Applications are loaded to the platform no later than early March for the Spring cycle, and early September for the Fall cycle. It is simply depends on the time required to update the application for the cycle.
The Fund for International UUism only accepts applications for the Spring cycle, with a March 31st deadline.
The applications for our other 3 funds, below, are due March 31st and September 30th.
The Fund for UUism
The Fund for UU Social Responsibility
The Fund for a Just Society
To submit an application, or complete an Interim of Final Report, log in to the UUFP Funding Center.
Once there, use your email address to login or create your user account. If you don't remember whether you have one or not, simply try resetting your password. You'll get a pop window asking for your email address. If you don't have an account, it will say "No account found with that email address." If you do have an account, it will email you a reset link.
If you did not have an account, don't be dismayed if setting up your User Account/Organization information takes more time than creating your application ~ that's really ok!
Once in the Funding Center, if you are not on the Application page, look for the "Apply" button at the top of the window.
Select the appropriate fund's application, and begin composing!
If the application or fund you seek is not there, it means we have not opened the next seasonal cycle yet - the fund is not accepting applications at the time. For instance, our GOTV fund is only available for Mid-Term and Presidential election cycles. When we're ready to receive and review applications, the Fund/Application will be visible in the Funding Center.
In the meantime, to help you start crafting your proposal, links to templates are below for our most recent application questions with the character limits noted. PLEASE DO NOT MAIL US ANYTHING. WE WILL NOT GET IT.

A Note about the Grant Decision Process
- Panel meetings are held approximately two months after the application deadlines. Due to the confidential and financial information discussed in the deliberations, these meetings are not open to visitors.
- Results of our meetings are mailed and emailed as soon as possible and then posted on our website.
- UU Funding Program staff are happy to communicate via email with anyone who has questions or wants more information about our process and results.
Challenge Grant Awardees may use FAITHIFY to Fundraise
Many of our challenge grant recipients may now use FAITHIFY, Unitarian Universalism's crowdsourcing website, to fundraise for their challenge grants. Using FAITHIFY will allow you to activate your networks and connect with the larger UU community to raise these crucial challenge funds.
We want you to know that we are here to help. We've made posting a project on the site as simple as possible, and have documents and videos to help you every step of the way.
Go to faithify.org to get started. Let the faithifying begin!

Meet the UU Funding Program!
Our virtual presentation for the UUA General Assembly!
Be a FANTASTIC Fundraiser for Your UU Cause!
Over the years, we have been so fortunate to work with fundraising guru Kim Klein, and The Rowe Center to present a fundraising workshop, inviting recent grant recipients from the Fund for UUism and the Fund for UU Social Responsibility. We are excited to share that partnership lives on! The Rowe Center now offers training virtually, offering a way for us to learn in the safety and comfort of our own homes! The knowledge and skills gained are invaluable! 2024's workshop is scheduled for Tuesdays in January, starting on January 9th! Email us, or check The Rowe Center for developments in the future, as we'd like to grow this offering and skills in our grantees and U/Uism!

Participants say:
- Kim's deadpan jokes are the best! Also getting to the heart of what where to start - people give to orgs that meet values/passions
- Kim spent some 1 on 1 time with me after a session, going over ideas specific to my organization which was incredibly helpful.
The Unitarian Universalist Funding Program (UUFP) is a denominational grantmaking program of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
